It began when I unknowingly purchased counterfeit razor blade cartridges on eBay® in 2006. After discovering my purchase was counterfeit and unsuccessful attempts to resolve this problem with the seller, eBay and PayPal®, I decided to created this web site to inform prospective buyers of the many counterfeit razor blades sold on eBay.
The motivation to account for my experience was due in part to my frustration in working with a seller and a system that proved to be unrelenting and extremely difficult. Despite the confirmation and proof presented to the seller, eBay and PayPal that the purchased items were in fact counterfeit, my case was never resolved and no refund issued. The loss of money was insignificant and not the issue but the principle of the matter.
That experience led to the creation of fakeblades.com to help inform you, the eBay consumer, of the numerous counterfeit items that exist in this relatively new marketplace. Thank you to many eBay members who have sent e-mail to me noting their appreciation of this site and to those who have detailed their experiences of counterfeit purchases. Your compliments and unfortunate experiences have kept this site going.
