This is a comparison of a Gillette Fusion Power cartridge to its counterfeit counterpart. The best way to determine if you have counterfeit cartridges is to simply check if two serial numbers are on the counterfeit cartridge frame as indicated in the pictures below. Please click on images to view in a higher resolution.
All Gillette Fusion Power cartridge will have serial numbers located behind the blades under frame as indicated in picture to the left. The serial number will consist of one letter with four numbers on the left side and one letter with four numbers on the right side. This cartridge serial number is marked in black with B7194 on the left side and Y1301 on the right side.
The left number, B7194, is the same for the 4 cartridge pack in my possession and with two different numbers, Y1301 and Y1201, on two cartridges each to the right side.
The counterfeit Gillette Fusion Power cartridge on the left will have no serial numbers on its cartridge frame as indicated in this picture.
Thanks to wild_wolf5 who mailed to me one of his counterfeit Gillette Fusion Power 8 cartridge packages purchased on eBay from readyfornapoli247 and used for this comparison.

Emailed P&G if there was a way to detect fakes, received this:
Thank you for contacting Gillette. There is no way to tell if a blade is counterfeit unless the product is x-rayed by our quality team.
Thank you.

What I find most disturbing about all this …is the “laid back” attitude of P & G. My last report has resulted in a complete refund from PayPal and the vendor’s EBayer’s membership closed down (no doubt he will start again !!). I spoke to Gillette UK and they want to see the blades and are sending me vouchers to cover the cost of buying the real things from a high street retailer. I cannot believe that the customer service staff at P&G/Gillette believe the only way to spot a Chinese fake is by X ray !!! This problem of their brand being ripped off has been going on for years, it would’nt be difficult for them to source some of the EBay supply and start criminal prosecutions. In short these blades could be dangerous – What levels of hygene are exercised in the counterfeiter’s factories ??? Cut your face with these blades (very easy to do) and the result could be nasty.
Yes………. there are some EBayers who sell the real item – I’ve brought them but in my experience they are rare and expensive.

just bought 8 gillette fusion power blades from a market trader in church st. edgware rd. for £10. He assured me they were real, got home had a shave with one and nearly cut my face to shreads, needless to say i was straight back to him where he refunded my money without question, so now i am off to boots for the real thing!!! BEWARE CHURCH ST MARKET TRADERS!!!!
